Centre of Excellence in Alternative Care India
The Martin James Foundation has been supporting the Centre of Excellence in Alternative Care of Children since its inception in 2015. The Centre of Excellence in Alternative Care (CEAC) is a registered non-profit organization in New Delhi, India.
The main aim of CEAC is to help promote awareness and provide resources and capacity building in developing the understanding and application of the new and improved legislation developed by the Indian Government. Through the production of resources and provision of training, CEAC has developed itself as a leading centre in the provision of alternative care within India.
The Martin James Foundation, through the support of Key Assets, has worked to provide both working capital and resources to help CEAC grow. MJF supports the mission and vision of CEAC; helping to translate policy into practice in the field of alternative care in India.
In recent years the Indian government has made great advances in legislation and implementing practice around the alternative care of children due, in part to the support and technical expertise of CEAC and MJF.
Of late, CEAC, with the assistance of MJF, have been developing a Foster Care User Guide. This is a comprehensive handbook due to be distributed to professionals in the care sector in India. The Foster Care User Guide is due to be launched at the end of August.
