Key Assets New Zealand
Key Assets New Zealand’s (KANZ) roots are grounded in the provision of foster care, with their Kaupapa (purpose) evolving to include whānau (family) preservation, whānau (family) restoration, youth work, and training.
Key Assets New Zealand is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organisation providing specialised services across Aotearoa (New Zealand), in the Auckland, Northland, Waikato and Christchurch regions, for mokopuna (children), their whānau (family), and mātua whāngai (foster carers). They have approximately 30 members of staff across three offices.
Key Assets New Zealand is on a bi-cultural journey as an organisation – recognising that what came before must guide them in what lies ahead.
They are committed to upholding the mana of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
The organisation aims to put the individual needs of the mokopuna (children) first and ensures their voice is heard in the decisions that affect them.
They work collaboratively with families, carers, Oranga Tamariki (Ministry for Children) and other professionals and services such as social workers, therapists, health professionals, educational professionals, respite carers, and cultural advisors to develop personalised support that best fits the needs of their service users.
The child or young person’s whānau (family) is also involved whenever possible.
He mana tō te tamaiti. He mea nui ngā wa katoa.
Every child has mana. Every moment matters.
